NEW LECTURES for Fall 2025
While keeping our full menu of lecture offerings intact-- everything from climate change in Philly (the only one offered in the region!) to the naughty sex lives of animals in nature-- Mike unveils two new and important lectures for the fall 2025 season.
In The Buzz About Bees: Pollinators in Peril, Mike provides updated information on what’s happening with bees and other pollinators like butterflies and beetles. While this topic has received tons of attention, the science continually changes as we learn new and challenging information. And since an astonishing one of every three bites of food we eat comes to us from these pollinators, this topic is of critical interest.
Then, mushrooms have been receiving tons of attention lately. In fact, our fungal friends-- surprise!-- will play a huge role in a sustainable future. In the visually stunning
Our Fungal Future: How Mushrooms Will Save the World, Mike gives the inside scoop on how fungi connect trees in forests, protect biodiversity, offer alternatives to plastic packaging, remediate pollution, and even help solve climate change. You’ll never see the world in the same way after this lecture.

Mike’s Blog: Natural Selections
“Mike Weilbacher’s lecture, ‘Hotter, Wetter, Weirder,’ on climate change in Philadelphia was fascinating and informative. For a topic with such serious ramifications, Mike’s thoughtful and professional presentation style make the statistics comprehensible and even more poignant.”
